15th Annual Moonlight Walk/Run
Since 1998, Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania has helped more than 15,000 children and adolescents by effectively assessing and treating child abuse and neglect. Often experiencing shame and guilt, these children undeniably need the special treatment they receive at CAC/NEPA to repair their broken childhood…and keep it from having a lasting effect on their adulthood. Now in existence for seventeen years, the Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA (CAC/NEPA) continues to strive to expand its services for child and teen victims of abuse in our community.
Our 15th Annual Moonlight Walk/Run will be held at Nay Aug Park in Scranton, on Saturday, May 4th, 2019. This event will offer a Kid’s Fun Run, as well as a 5K walk/run and a 10K run. We hope that your organization will be able to participate in this exciting upcoming event and experience firsthand the pride we take in sustaining our mission. It is our mission to provide excellence in the assessment and treatment of child abuse and neglect. To avoid requiring a child victim to be taken to multiple agencies, and having to endure multiple interviews, CAC/NEPA responds to each child abuse case by putting the child’s needs first. Utilizing a collaborative team approach that involves bringing together a team of professional representatives from law enforcement, child protective services, District Attorney’s office, along with our team of forensic interviewers, medical and mental health professionals, child victim and family advocates, CAC/NEPA provides effective, efficient and child-centered intervention. CAC/NEPA also provides child abuse prevention education to professionals and communities served. To meet our mission and provide
our critical services to child and teen victims in our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. We are grateful for our community support which allowed us to serve
720 child and teen victims last year.
We can’t change what has already happened; but with your help we can change what happens next. We ask that you make a commitment to support our annual Moonlight Walk/Run by sponsoring this event. This year our goal is to raise $50,000.00. Your generosity will make a difference in our community by allowing us to continue our work in child abuse intervention. We have enclosed the sponsorship information packet for your convenience so you may review the benefits sponsorship. Thank you for your consideration of supporting the 15th Annual Moonlight Walk/Run.
