For 24 hours on May 5th, the Scranton Area Community Foundation is providing a dollar for dollar match for the first $1,000 raised by EACH member of the NEPA Match Day collective!
The Scranton Area Community Foundation is excited to announce the 3rd annual NEPA Match Day, which will be held Friday, May 5, 2017. NEPA Match Day is an exciting and original initiative meant to foster teamwork between nonprofit agencies while helping to build program capacity. It’s a great way for us to show our support for our region’s nonprofits and demonstrate the Foundation’s belief that when we work together, we are stronger.
Our nonprofit partners do phenomenal work in our region. The efforts of their volunteers and employees provide assistance, education, and support services that touch nearly every facet of life and make NEPA a better place to live. On May 5th, with the generosity of our region, we can send over $50,000.00 to strengthen our nonprofits, which will strengthen our community. WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! You can give to the entire NEPA Match Day collective through the Scranton Area Community Foundation website by selecting NEPA Match Day by going here. You can also follow the links below to give directly to the nonprofit of your choice on May 5th.

Here at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania (CAC/NEPA), children begin their journey of healing with the help of our Team. The time has come to expand CAC/NEPA’s community impact and mission of healing. CAC/NEPA is enhancing its Trauma Therapy Services by developing an Evidence-Based Therapy Treatment Program. CAC/NEPA’s new E-B Therapy program now offers world-renowned therapies to children who have experienced sexual abuse, physical abuse and neglect, at our new Mulberry Center.
Evidence-Based Therapy Treatment Program, including Trauma-Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) components. TF-CBT is recognized as being one of the most successful treatments for individuals between 3-21 years, who have experienced significant traumatic event(s). TF-CBT is highly effective in decreasing PTSD symptoms, depression, anxiety, externalizing behavioral, sexualized behavior, and shame, while improving trauma processing, relationships, and social competence. PCIT is a dyadic behavioral intervention treatment for children and their parents/caregivers, which focuses on diminishing “external” behavior problems while improving coping/social skills and parent-child relationships.
We ask that you consider supporting our efforts to broaden the impact of our mission on NEPA Match Day to help keep the abuse from having a lasting effect on their adulthood.
