OUR SERVICES
Since 1998, Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania has helped more than 12,000 children and adolescents by effectively assessing and treating child abuse and neglect. Often experiencing shame and guilt, these children undeniably need the time, love and special treatment they receive at CAC to repair their broken childhood…and keep it from having a lasting effect on their adulthood.
In 2016, the CAC/NEPA provided 1,448 child abuse intervention services including forensic interviews, medical examinations & assessments, trauma therapy, and support services to children and adolescents.
CAC/NEPA is a private, non-profit, charitable organization whose mission is to provide excellence in the assessment and treatment of child abuse and neglect. Right here, at the CAC/NEPA, is where the healing begins for children who have experienced the unimaginable. Because of our extraordinary treatment and services, we are the preferred Child Abuse Intervention Center for Lackawanna County. The CAC/NEPA also provides Forensic Medical Assessments and Forensic Interviews for cases referred from Monroe, Wayne, Carbon Susquehanna, Luzerne, Pike and Wyoming counties.
Our Education Programs
The Children’s Advocacy Center of Northeastern Pennsylvania encourages the public to learn more about child abuse and neglect; therefore education and prevention programs are a key part of our critical core services. Child abuse is a community problem that requires knowledge and resources to help children who have been hurt and to prevent it from happening. We provide an array of public awareness, education, and consultation opportunities. Our specific workshops and educational programs are presented in the Education Page of our website for your reference.
In 2016, CAC/NEPA provided education to 3,226 adults and children in communities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
